STUDIO APPRENTICE PROGRAM - 2025
ABOUT:
In exchange for a few hours per week, you could have the opportunity to learn about the world of ceramics in my Cleveland studio. This program has been running for the past decade and I have had the great fortune to work with so many budding potters and clay enthausists from across the globe. If you are accepted for the appointment each session runs for twelve weeks. The appointment dates are always flexible. I encourage you to apply if you are interested and wish you “good luck!”
COMMITMENT:
One or two days per week (4-8 hours)
Possible times: Weekdays (M-F) 12pm-6pm and/or occasional weekends.
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR:
Ideally you have to like people in this line of work. Being punctual, thoughtful, honest and positive are core traits.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
Studio operations and flow of all things, mixing clays and glazes, loading and unloading kilns, staging, merchandising, photography, web building, packing, shipping, and transport of works, troubleshooting, creative thinking, Interacting with visitors, and of course making pottery.
WHAT YOU WILL GET:
You will be part of all aspects of the making process from start to finish. You will have the opportunity to learn from many working professionals in my community of makers. You will get one-on-one studio time with me, use of studio clay, equipment and materials.
ABOUT THE STUDIO:
My studio is located at the Historic Hildebrandt Building in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio.
